The Tampa Bay Rays could have a new stadium site in the Tampa area soon, based on previous on-going discussions between officials to relocate the team due to sub-par attendance at games. The move would contribute to the region economically and attract more attendees to the team’s games and further enhance the growth and development that Tampa is currently experiencing.
This Wednesday, County Commissioner Ken Hagan said he will be asking fellow board members to commission the Tampa Sports Authority the task of handling the Tampa Bay Rays if they are permitted to search for sites in other areas outside of Pinellas County.
Hagan says that “We have every reason to believe an agreement is near which would allow the Rays to legally speak and meet … about a new stadium.” Read more at TBO.com.
